How to Get Access to the Playtest

The Truck World: Australia playtest lets invited players try the tutorial, early delivery jobs, and everyday trucking systems before the Steam launch. Participation is limited, with access distributed through invitation waves. Signing up puts you in the pool for testing rather than granting immediate entry.

Registration for the second test opened on July 17, 2026, and that test began on August 28. Players who already had access could return for the second round, with additional invitations following. Another invitation wave went out on September 30.

Visit Truck World: Australia on Steam for playtest announcements and registration information. Keep the registration form separate from the feedback survey: one is for joining the test, while the other is for sharing your experience after playing.

What to Focus on During Testing

The second test specifically targets the tutorial and first full delivery jobs. These opening tasks help the team see whether players understand the systems and can put those lessons into practice.

Pay attention to the transition between learning a task and completing it during a delivery. Report confusing instructions, moments where you get stuck, and bugs through the First Session Playtest Survey.

Record your session if possible and share it with the team. Gameplay footage can capture the exact sequence leading to a problem, including details that are easy to miss in a written report. When describing an issue, explain what you were trying to do and what happened instead.

How Truck Service Stations Work

The September 30 update added service stations, giving you a place to repair and customize your truck. Find the nearest station on the map, or watch for its roadside signs while driving.

Using one involves more than opening a menu:

  1. Drive into the service station.
  2. Park your truck inside.
  3. Get out of the cab.
  4. Speak with the manager to see the available services.

Truck repairs and customization are the available services in this build. Broader functionality, including the intended role of trailer servicing, belongs to future development.

Use the map to locate a station before heading there, then follow the physical interaction sequence when you arrive. Parking inside and speaking to the manager are part of accessing the service options.

How to Rest at Motels

Motels bring another stop outside the cab into your delivery routine. The August 28 update introduced a rest process that takes you from the parking lot to the reception desk.

To rest:

  1. Find the nearest motel.
  2. Park your truck in its parking area.
  3. Leave the cab and enter the building.
  4. Go to reception and choose how long to rest.

After resting, you can return to the truck and take on more jobs. Remember to enter the motel: choosing your rest duration happens at reception.

When Is the Steam Release?

Truck World: Australia is planned to launch on Steam in the first half of 2027. The Windows game is taking a staged release approach, with other platforms scheduled to come before Steam.

That approach gives Truck World Studio a smaller initial audience for gathering feedback, fixing bugs, and improving systems before reaching the Steam audience. The team has fewer than ten people, making the work of supporting a live release a significant part of that preparation.

The Steam timing is the studio’s own decision. It has received no payment to delay that release and has signed no platform exclusivity agreement.

Steam community playtests, development logs, and progress updates will continue during this rollout, so there are still opportunities to follow development and contribute feedback ahead of launch.
