How to Rest at a Motel
Truck World: Australia motel rest means stepping out of the cab and heading to reception to choose your sleep duration. Rest matters because your driver has fatigue to manage between delivery jobs. The motel stop gives you a way to sleep before getting back behind the wheel.
Follow these steps when you reach a motel:
- Park in the motel’s parking area. Pull into the parking area before leaving your truck.
- Get out of the cab. Continue to the motel on foot.
- Enter the building and approach reception. The reception desk is where you select your rest duration.
- Choose how long to rest. Use the available interaction to make your selection.
- Return to your truck after resting. You can then resume driving and take on more jobs.
The key destination is the reception desk. If you’re sitting in the parking lot looking for a sleep option inside the truck, get out and head into the building.

Choosing How Long to Sleep
Motel rest lets you choose the duration of your stop. Plan that break alongside your delivery route, especially when you’re carrying individual loads for several jobs in the same trailer.

Delivery contracts come in two types: hauling full trailers and carrying individual cargo loads on your own flat-top trailer. Individual loads let you combine deliveries when everything fits. Pick up cargo heading in the same direction and plan your motel stop around that route, alongside the pickups and drop-offs you intend to make.
Loading those individual shipments includes arranging cargo on a grid and balancing its placement. You can organize the load yourself or use the automatic organization option. After placing the pallets, you step outside to secure them with straps by hand. Leave room in your route planning for that loading work as well as the drive and your rest stop.
In the Epic Early Access build, the sleep interaction includes guidance on the time your character needs for a full rest. Read that guidance when choosing your sleep duration instead of assuming every break needs the same number of hours.
Keep rest alongside the other hands-on parts of a haul. Refueling, working with trailer equipment, and visiting motel reception all involve leaving the cab, so allow time for those stops when planning your next run.
Trailer connections also involve hands-on work: you connect hoses and raise the landing legs outside the truck. Refueling includes using the pump yourself and going inside to pay at the counter. These interactions make a delivery run more than driving between destinations; your chosen sleep duration is one part of a trip that also includes work on foot.
Which Version Has Motel Rest?
Roadside motel stays are part of the Epic Games Store Early Access game. That build includes the Eyre Peninsula, with nine towns and repeatable delivery contracts.

Keep these platform details in mind:
- PC platform: Windows.
- Epic Games Store: Early Access is available.
- Steam release: 2027, coming soon.
The current Early Access content includes one player-owned truck, truck upgrades, the first two base upgrades, and the first two story missions. The handcrafted content takes approximately three hours to complete, while unlimited repeatable delivery contracts provide dozens of additional hours. Motel breaks remain relevant when you move from those story missions into ongoing hauling work.
Further development includes additional trucks, more cargo and trailers, expanded trailer interactions, and more base upgrades. Planned roads extend from Port Augusta to Marla and along the Hawker - Marree - Marla route. The update schedule targets smaller updates approximately once a month and major content updates approximately once every three months, with hotfixes released when ready.
The game remains in active development. If a motel interaction fails, use the in-game feedback form to report the problem, including what happened when you approached reception or selected your rest duration.
